Nashville Wedding Photography | Amy and Chris | The Fontanel | for Erin Lee of The Collection

The Fontanel is a Nashville landmark and one of the most physically challenging places to shoot I’ve encountered (there are a lot of stairs in that place).  Assisting Erin Lee of The Collection, this wedding provided me with and opportunity to really work on my detail shooting indoors and try out my new Rogue Flash Bender.  The Rogue Flash Bender worked really well for making the light from a handheld flash look a lot bigger and softer.  You can see Erin’s preview here and  full blog post here.  Here a few of the images I made.

I really like the overhead of the cake and dance floor!

Something Else Is New

For 2013 I’ve made a lot of changes to my business.  The first and most obvious is the website you’re seeing now.  It’s simpler and cleaner than my old website and I’m loving it.  I’m also focusing exclusively on weddings this year instead of doing both weddings and family portraits.  I enjoy the challenge and spontaneity of wedding days far more.  Another new thing this year – a new camera.  It’s not the latest and greatest model, but it is a change to full frame.  I’ve been shooting with a crop sensor the last two years and while I’ve loved that camera and made some great images it was time to move up.  I went out yesterday with my son and took a few pictures behind our house just to test it out and so far I’m in love.  I can’t wait to get some lovely brides in front of my camera this year and create fantastic images for them.

Springfield, TN Wedding Photography | Megan and Michael | for Sarah Richmond of The Collection

Tennessee farm weddings are always pretty amazing.  Beautiful locations + beautiful people = be there and don’t screw it up wedding photography.  I got to assist Sarah Richmond of The Collection at a wedding up in Springfield, TN earlier this year.  Needless to say it was a beautiful wedding.  My goal for this wedding was to work on my event detail shooting as this has become more and more important in the wedding blog industry and is important for cultivating relationships with other wedding vendors.  You can see Sarah’s photos on her blog, and here’s some of mine.

Nashville Event Photography | Nashville Caroling Company | Santa Claus Photos

My wife runs The Nashville Caroling Company, singing all over middle TN.  She also hires out Santa’s for photo opportunities and every now and then I get to go take pictures of the event.  Last Saturday we all went to private party in Franklin for a night of caroling, pictures with Santa, and balloon animals.  It was a blast.

The biggest surprise of the night definitely went to these two, a husband and wife that hadn’t seen each other in 3 months – she had no idea he was coming!

I attended the event with some friends and we had our picture taken with Santa. Where can we find the pictures taken? We were told we would receive an email but never did. Thank you!
